In-depth about Faux Freckles and beauty marks.
What are some types of faux freckles?
People opt for these semi-permanent freckles and beauty marks tattoos to add a unique touch to their appearance. From realistic to abstract designs, the possibilities are endless.
- Faux Freckle: These can be placed over the areas sun hits - nose bridge, cheeks, chin and forehead.
- Beauty Mark: Simple yet affective, can do the 1 or 3, up to you!
- Heart Freckle: Do I need to say more?
How are they done?
Dea does hand poke technique, so the pigment is hand poked into the skin with the pigments and needle. The process is done like so;
- Clean the skin
- Mark up where placements work best for you
- Put numbing glide on and start the process
- Once done, gently clean the areas
The appointment is around 45 minutes (for beauty mark) to 1 hour & 30 minutes for freckles
How to prepare for the appointment?
- Come in with no makeup, clean skin only
- Hydrated and eaten is a must
- Bring ID with you, as the service is 18 & over only
- Not be pregnant, and not breastfeeding (if baby is 6 months and over, that's fine)
- No alcohol for at least 24 hrs prior
How to choose what is good for you?
There are 3 different sets of styles on places for faux freckles
- light dusting (freckles) - minimal spaced out freckles
- nostril bridge (freckles)- over the nose to slightly on the under eye area
- full coverage (freckles)- placements all over the face from brow to chin
Dea can go over with you to ask questions on what finish look you are after. When it comes to beauty marks, it's fully customised.
How long do they last?
Typically see faux freckles / beauty marks lasting around 12 months, but depends on the person's skin care, lifestyle and aftercare.
Exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, always apply sunscreen (50 SPF or greater).
Touch ups will sometimes be needed after 3-6 weeks.
